Roland Briggs, a 55-year-old lifelong resident of Ugashik, Alaska, was a seasoned mariner and commercial fisherman known for his deep ties to the Bristol Bay region. On October 13, 2015, he embarked on what should have been a routine fuel delivery trip aboard his 50-foot steel landing craft, the Ketivik.
