On November 15, 2018, 30-year-old Travis Fanning left his home on North James Street in Hazle Township, Pennsylvania, with his father. Around noon, his father dropped him off at Groceries Plus on Vine Street, just a few blocks away. This routine errand marked the last time his family would see him.

Approximately an hour and a half later, surveillance footage recorded Travis at the Fine Wine and Good Spirits store in the Church Hill Mall on Church Street, about a 10-15 minute walk from the grocery store.
