On the evening of October 17, 2018, Veronda Kay Sanders, a 60-year-old U.S. Army veteran, embarked on a bicycle ride through her Southeast Houston neighborhood near Mykawa Road and Bellfort Avenue. Riding her light teal Huffy Good Vibrations Women's Cruiser bicycle, she was last seen around 8:30 p.m. That night, Veronda never returned home, and both she and her bicycle vanished without a trace.
