The Day Michael Gist Disappeared

On December 15, 2010, 50-year-old Michael Van Gist left his Collinsville, Illinois home, telling his live-in girlfriend he would return in five minutes. That brief outing turned into a haunting mystery, as Gist never came back and has not been seen since. His girlfriend reported him missing three weeks later, after no contact or sign of his whereabouts.

Michael Gist is described as a Black man with black dreadlocks and brown eyes. He stood between 5'8" and 5'11" tall and weighed between 170 and 180 pounds at the time of his disappearance.
