A Life Marked by Challenges and Resilience

Christopher Michael Dietterick was born on December 16, 1977, in Delaware to Pamela Wiseman and Jan Dietterick. Growing up, he shared a close bond with his younger sister, Sara. Despite facing familial challenges, including his parents' divorce, Chris maintained a strong connection with his mother and sister. He was known for his love of baseball and his sense of humor. As an adult, Chris faced significant health issues, including melanoma and liver failure, which required ongoing medical treatment. These health challenges, coupled with struggles with addiction, led to periods of homelessness. Despite these hardships, Chris remained connected to his family and was known for his resilience and determination. 

The Day He Disappeared

On May 30, 2019, Chris was seen on surveillance footage at the Cecil County Health Department in Elkton, Maryland, around 11:15 AM. He was there to retrieve a battery charger for his cell phone. After leaving the facility, he was seen walking with two acquaintances. They later stated that they parted ways shortly after, with Chris saying he would contact them later.
