On March 28, 2010, Angel Arraiga Gutierrez, a 46-year-old Mexican national, was detained by Mexican police in the town of Altar, Sonora, while en route to Texas. After his release, he informed family members of his intention to cross into the United States, aiming for an unspecified destination in Texas.
