On January 8, 1999, the fishing community of New Bedford, Massachusetts, was shaken by the tragic sinking of the vessel Cape Fear in Buzzards Bay, just three miles off the coast of Dartmouth. Among the crew was 29-year-old Steven Reeves, a seasoned fisherman whose body was never recovered, leaving his disappearance shrouded in mystery.

The Ill-Fated Voyage

The Cape Fear set sail with a crew of five, including Reeves, returning to New Bedford with a substantial haul of 130 cages of clams.
