A Family's Fateful Journey

On December 3, 2022, the Kath family embarked on what was intended to be a routine flight from St. Petersburg to Venice, Florida. Pilot Christian Kath, 42, his wife Misty, 43, and their 12-year-old daughter Lily sought to enjoy a dinner outing, with plans to return home the same evening. Tragically, their return flight ended in disaster, leading to a series of events that would leave a community mourning and questions unanswered.

The Ill-Fated Flight

The family departed from Venice Municipal Airport around 7:30 p.m. in a rented single-engine Piper PA-28 Cherokee.
