On January 9, 2024, a devastating boating accident near Sitka, Alaska, claimed the lives of two young men, Darren Borbridge and Sayer Tuzon. The incident occurred off the coast of Chichagof Island, approximately 25 miles north of Sitka, during a hunting trip. The Boating Accident

The group of five individuals embarked on a hunting trip on Chichagof Island, a remote area known for its rugged terrain and challenging weather conditions. As they made their way back, their 26-foot aluminum vessel capsized in the turbulent waters of Khaz Bay. The incident occurred around 4:35 p.m., with the boat overturning in rough seas and freezing temperatures.
