Scott Edward Goodman, a 30-year-old biology student from Norfolk, Nebraska, was on the cusp of a bright future. Born on April 11, 1988, in Geneva, Nebraska, Scott moved to Norfolk during his early years. He graduated from Norfolk Catholic High School in 2006 and pursued higher education at Northeast Community College. At the time of his disappearance, he was a senior at Wayne State College, anticipating graduation in December 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology .
The Fateful Morning of March 14, 2019
In the early hours of March 14, 2019, Nebraska was grappling with severe flooding due to rapid snowmelt and heavy rainfall. Around 4 a.m., Scott attempted to navigate through a flooded area in Norfolk. Disregarding a flood barrier, he drove into the inundated zone, and his vehicle was swiftly overtaken by the rising waters.
