On February 4, 2024, Rickisha "Kisha" Bear, a 19-year-old woman from the Rocky Boy's Reservation, was reported missing while visiting friends on the Flathead Reservation in Pablo, Montana. Friends and family have been unable to contact her since, and there has been no activity on her social media accounts. The last confirmed sighting of Kisha was on January 31, 2024, when she was seen by the Flathead Tribal Police.
Search Efforts
The search for Kisha has been extensive, involving friends, family, and law enforcement from multiple jurisdictions. A phone believed to belong to Kisha was found buried in the mud north of Columbia Falls and turned over to the Lake County Sheriff’s office. However, unlocking the phone could take months or even years. Despite the challenges, the community remains hopeful and continues to search for any clues that might lead to her safe return.
Community Support
The Great Falls community has shown tremendous support for Kisha's family. Friends have organized events, such as a birthday party to celebrate what would have been Kisha's 20th birthday, to raise awareness about her disappearance. Additionally, a $1,000 reward has been offered for information leading to her whereabouts. Community members have also been posting flyers and contacting businesses to display them, despite a city ordinance banning flyers on city property.
Description and Appeal for Information
Kisha is described as 4’11” with brown eyes and tattoos, including one that reads "babygirl" on her left collarbone. Her hair color may have been dyed red, blue, or brown. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Department or the Rocky Boy Police Department. The family has also set up a Facebook page and an email address, BringKishaHome@gmail.com, to coordinate information and tips.
Ongoing Concerns
Despite the ongoing efforts, there have been concerns about the removal of Kisha's missing posters around Great Falls due to the city ordinance. Friends and family are determined to keep her story in the public eye and continue to appeal for help. They believe that it could take just one person coming forward with information to bring Kisha home safely.
Conclusion
The disappearance of Rickisha Bear has left a void in the hearts of those who knew her. The community's unwavering support and determination to find her are a testament to the love and care she has inspired. As the search continues, the hope remains that Kisha will be found and returned to her loved ones.
