The Disappearance of a Young Mother

On April 7, 2019, 22-year-old Monica Moynan vanished from her home in Holly Springs, North Carolina. A devoted mother of two young daughters, Monica was balancing her responsibilities as a waitress, entrepreneur, and aspiring doula. Her sudden disappearance left her family and community in shock and prompted a prolonged investigation into her whereabouts. 

A Troubled Relationship

Monica's relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Brian Sluss, was fraught with turmoil. Having met when she was 17 and he was 32, their relationship was marked by instances of domestic violence.
