A Quiet Life Interrupted
Jose Vaca Sanchez, a 49-year-old Hispanic man, was last seen on August 3, 2014, after leaving his home in Moorpark, California. Standing 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing between 150 to 220 pounds, Jose had brown hair and black eyes. On the day of his disappearance, he was wearing blue pants, a white t-shirt, and a blue shirt with the name "Vaca" printed on the chest. Despite extensive efforts by authorities and his family, no new leads have emerged since that day.
The Initial Investigation
The Ventura County Sheriff's Office-Major Crimes Investigations unit took charge of the case, registering it under agency case number #14-17757. The investigation involved interviews with family members, friends, and neighbors, as well as searches in the surrounding areas.
