A Routine Walk Turns into a Mystery

On November 20, 2014, 74-year-old Augustine Macias left his home in Simi Valley, California, for his customary morning walk near Tapo Street and Los Angeles Avenue. Known for his daily walks, Augustine's departure that day was no different—until he failed to return. Witnesses later reported seeing him walking westbound on Los Angeles Avenue, but after that, he vanished without a trace.

Health Concerns Amplify Urgency

Augustine suffered from dementia, a condition that heightened concerns about his disappearance. Community Mobilization and Search Efforts

The Simi Valley Police Department, along with community volunteers, organized comprehensive searches in the area. During this search, several items of interest were discovered; however, none were conclusively linked to Augustine.

Physical Description and Last Known Attire

At the time of his disappearance, Augustine was described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a light brown long-sleeve shirt, a black wool jacket, blue jeans, black shoes, and a blue baseball cap with a yellow "S" insignia. ...Read More
