The Fateful Accident
At approximately 5:00 p.m. on that Valentine's Day, Billings was involved in a single-vehicle accident on Route 16 near the Hungry Mother Grocery Store in Marion. Driving his sister's car, he reportedly lost control and slid off the road. Eyewitnesses at the scene noted that, despite the mishap, Billings appeared unharmed.
