A Promising Life Cut Short
On January 1, 2014, the Lubbock community was shaken by the untimely death of 21-year-old Abraham Ugene Michael Cleaver. Born on June 18, 1992, to Michael Cleaver and Francene Goodson, Abe was a vibrant young man known for his athletic prowess and uplifting spirit. A 2010 graduate of Estacado High School, he excelled as a fullback and defensive end on the football team, earning respect both on and off the field. His warm smile and well-mannered demeanor left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
A Family's Heartache
The loss of Abe was a devastating blow to his family. He left behind his parents, Francene Goodson and Michael Cleaver; two young sons, A'bravion and Aun'Trell Cleaver; a sister, Janie Hicks; and his grandmothers, Louise Lee and Deloise Richards.
