On the morning of July 6, 2017, the Gresham neighborhood on Chicago's South Side was shaken by the tragic death of 19-year-old William D. Moore. Known for his vibrant personality and infectious smile, William was a beloved son, father, and friend. His untimely passing left a void in the hearts of those who knew him and highlighted the pervasive issue of gun violence in the city.
The Fateful Morning
At approximately 11:02 a.m., William was seated in his vehicle on the 8500 block of South Justine Street. Without warning, a black SUV approached, and an unidentified assailant opened fire, striking William multiple times.
