At approximately 11:50 PM, a resident was alarmed by a man's desperate plea for help emanating from the second-floor balcony of apartment #18. The urgency in the voice prompted an immediate call to 911, setting off a chain of events that would leave the community with more questions than answers.
A Grim Discovery
Responding officers arrived swiftly at the scene. They found the door to apartment #18 unlocked, an ominous sign that all was not well. A trail of blood led them up the stairs to a bedroom, where they discovered 58-year-old Wilbert Jones lying on the floor, suffering from a severe stab wound.
