A Promising Young Life Cut Short

On August 21, 2016, the Denver community was shaken by the tragic death of 18-year-old Osbaldo "Ozzy" Zavala-Hernandez. Born on May 27, 1998, in Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato, Mexico, Osbaldo was known for his ever-present smile and his passion for cars, particularly the Toyota Supra and Subaru STI. He had recently begun working with Mark Young Construction and was cherished by his family and numerous friends.

The Fateful Night

In the early hours of that Sunday, Denver Police Department officers responded to reports of shots fired at 3480 S. Galena Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Osbaldo lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. Despite prompt medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
