A Life Cut Short in Ukrainian Village
Marlon L. Pollard, a 36-year-old resident of Evanston, Illinois, met a tragic end in the early hours of January 16, 2017. While standing in the street on the 2200 block of West Chicago Avenue in Chicago's Ukrainian Village neighborhood, Pollard was fatally shot. The assailant, operating from a black SUV, fired multiple rounds, striking Pollard in the abdomen, face, and left leg. Despite being rushed to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, he was pronounced dead shortly after 2 a.m.
A Troubled Past
Pollard's life was marred by a history of violence. In 2008, he was convicted of second-degree murder under provocation and received a 15-year prison sentence. However, due to policies allowing day-for-day credit, he served less than the full term and was released before 2023. ...Read More
