Discovery of the Body
On April 1, 2019, a postal worker made a grim discovery on Chattahoochee Drive in South Fulton, Georgia. While delivering mail along the secluded, winding dirt road, the worker spotted a man's body lying face-down. Authorities later identified the deceased as 55-year-old Mark Barnes, a resident of Douglasville. The location, deep within a wooded area, suggested that the body had been deliberately placed there, raising immediate suspicions about the circumstances leading to his death.

Upon arrival, South Fulton police observed that Barnes had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
