A Life Cut Short
In the early hours of Tuesday, May 22, 2012, tragedy struck the 1300 block of Stevens Road SE in Washington, D.C. At approximately 1:00 a.m., 35-year-old Levern Butler was fatally shot, his life abruptly ended by an unknown assailant. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded swiftly to the scene, but despite their efforts, the perpetrator remains at large, and the case has yet to be solved.

The murder of Levern Butler sent shockwaves through the local community. Residents of the neighborhood, known for its close-knit ties, were left grappling with fear and grief.
