On the morning of Thursday, November 30, 2006, at approximately 9:50 AM, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) of Washington, D.C., made a grim discovery. The lifeless body of James Edward Flecher Jr. was found in a dumpster located at the rear of 2351 16th Street, SE. The circumstances surrounding his death were immediately deemed suspicious, prompting a homicide investigation by the MPD's Violent Crimes Branch.
