A Tragic New Year's Eve
On December 31, 2004, as the nation prepared to welcome a new year, tragedy struck in Washington, D.C. At approximately 5:55 p.m., police were dispatched to the parking lot of the Giant Food Store located at 1050 Brentwood Road, NE, following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered 41-year-old Jade Hodge with apparent gunshot wounds to the head. Despite the prompt response of emergency medical personnel, Hodge was pronounced dead at the scene.
