A Tragic Night in Northeast D.C.
On the night of April 29, 1990, the tranquility of Washington, D.C.'s Northeast neighborhood was shattered by a violent crime. At approximately 12:10 a.m., Ernest Gregory Stover was fatally stabbed near the intersection of 60th and Dix Streets, NE. The Metropolitan Police Department responded swiftly, but despite their efforts, the assailant managed to evade capture, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
The Crime Scene and Immediate Aftermath
The scene of the crime offered limited clues. The late hour and the residential nature of the area meant that potential witnesses were scarce.
