On April 29, 2014, the city of Indianapolis was shaken by the tragic death of 19-year-old Cortez Demone Moton. Born on April 21, 1995, Cortez was a young man with aspirations and dreams, much like his peers. He was the beloved son of Shundra Moton and Robert Kendrick Jr., and a brother to Diamond Kendrick, Aariona Moton, and Aaliyah Albert. His untimely death left a void in the hearts of his family and the community.
The Fateful Day
Details surrounding the events of April 29 remain scarce. What is known is that Cortez was fatally shot at a northwest side apartment complex in Indianapolis.
