Discovery of the Body
On Sunday, April 20, 2014, the tranquil environment of the Kishwaukee Gorge Forest Preserve in Rockford, Illinois, was disrupted by a grim discovery. A kayaker navigating the Kishwaukee River spotted what appeared to be a body floating near the preserve, located at 4643 Blackhawk Road. Emergency responders were promptly dispatched to the scene, and the Winnebago County Coroner's Office later identified the deceased as 46-year-old Beverly Janet Gritzmaker, a resident of Rockford.
Autopsy Findings
