A Tragic Evening in Southeast Washington, D.C.

On the evening of December 23, 2004, the tranquility of Southeast Washington, D.C., was shattered by a violent crime. At approximately 8:16 p.m., 32-year-old Andre Dean Knuckles was fatally shot at the intersection of 13th Street and Congress Street, SE. The suddenness of the attack left the community in shock and mourning, as they grappled with the loss of a beloved member.

Following the incident, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) swiftly initiated an investigation into Knuckles' murder.
