A Family Gathering Turns Tragic
On August 6, 2013, the Cooper family convened for a routine family gathering at their mother's residence in Chicago's West Pullman neighborhood. Brothers LeAndre Cooper, aged 38, and Demetrius Cooper, 35, were among the attendees. After spending quality time with their loved ones, the brothers departed around midnight, intending to return home. Unbeknownst to them, this would be their final farewell.
The Grim Discovery
In the early hours of that fateful day, at approximately 3:40 a.m., law enforcement responded to reports of gunfire in the 100 block of East 120th Street, merely a stone's throw from the Cooper matriarch's home. Upon arrival, officers discovered a late-model Dodge Charger parked on the street. Inside the vehicle lay the lifeless bodies of LeAndre and Demetrius, both having sustained fatal gunshot wounds to the head and neck.
