Background and Early Life
Clotilde "Claudette" Arruda Tremblay was born on June 19, 1955, in São Miguel, one of the Azorean islands of Portugal. Seeking better opportunities, she immigrated to the United States and settled in Fall River, Massachusetts, where many of her relatives also resided. In 1980, she married Robert Tremblay, and together they had a daughter. Clotilde worked as a machine operator at the F&F Braid Company, conveniently located on Pearce Street, close to her home.
Disappearance in 1988
In 1988, at the age of 33, Clotilde vanished without a trace. At that time, she was living with her husband and their 8-year-old daughter at 128 Pearce Street in Fall River. Her husband, Robert, claimed that Clotilde had left him for another man; however, there is no evidence that he ever reported her disappearance to law enforcement authorities.
