A Fateful Night in Goddard
In the early hours of June 14, 2015, tranquility in Goddard, Kansas, was shattered by a tragic incident. At approximately 2:30 a.m., 36-year-old Aaron Matej was walking near the intersection of 13th Street North and 183rd Street West when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver fled the scene, leaving Aaron critically injured. He was swiftly transported to Via Christi St. Francis hospital, where, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
The Immediate Aftermath
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office promptly initiated an investigation into the fatal hit-and-run. Witnesses reported that the vehicle involved was a black and tan Ford Ranger pickup.
