On January 9, 2016, the life of 15-year-old Alder Hill was brutally ended in Miami's Model City neighborhood. Described by his family as a kind and sensitive boy who was working through a learning disability, Alder had a gentle demeanor and a love for children. That evening, while riding his bicycle near Northwest 10th Avenue and 69th Street, he was forcibly removed from his bike, dragged into a nearby field, and shot multiple times in what authorities have labeled an execution-style killing.
A Community in Shock and Grief
The heinous nature of Alder's murder sent shockwaves through the community. Family members, overwhelmed with grief, gathered at the crime scene to plead for information.
