On August 3, 2016, 40-year-old Gerard J. Howard was found shot to death in New Orleans, Louisiana. His untimely demise added to the city's escalating homicide rate that year. Despite an ongoing investigation, no suspects have been identified, and the case remains unsolved.
Gerard Howard left behind a grieving family, including his wife, Charisse Filmore Howard, and his children: Ciera, Mark, Kaelii Gibson, Jailyn, Jordyn, and Jahira Howard. He was also survived by his siblings, Edgarten and Charles Howard of Detroit, MI, and Angela "Kay" James of Los Angeles, CA. His funeral service was held on August 20, 2016, at Littlejohn Funeral Home in New Orleans.
The New Orleans Police Department's Cold Case Unit continues to seek information regarding Gerard Howard's murder. Despite the passage of time, authorities hope that new leads or witness testimonies may eventually bring justice to his family.
