Robert Eric Wone, born on June 1, 1974, in New York City, was a fourth-generation Chinese American raised in Brooklyn. It was during his time there that he forged a significant friendship with Joseph Price, a senior student sharing similar interests in student government and honor societies. Wone's academic journey continued at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, from which he graduated with honors in 1999. On the evening of August 2, 2006, Wone decided to stay overnight at the Washington, D.C. residence of his college friend, Joseph Price. Located on Swann Street in the Dupont Circle neighborhood, the home was shared by Price, his domestic partner Victor Zaborsky, and their mutual partner Dylan Ward, forming a polyamorous family unit.
