Upon extinguishing the fire, authorities uncovered a harrowing sight: the lifeless body of 51-year-old Cleveland Pope in the backseat, a victim of both gunfire and extensive burns.
Victim's Identity and Cause of Death
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office swiftly identified the deceased as Cleveland Pope. An autopsy revealed that Pope had suffered a fatal gunshot wound before the fire consumed 95% of his body.
