Early Life and Aspirations

Brian Randall Shaffer was born on February 11, 1979, in Pickerington, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus. He was the elder son of Randy and Renee Shaffer and graduated from the local high school in 1997. Brian pursued a degree in microbiology at Ohio State University (OSU), completing his undergraduate studies in 2003. His academic achievements led him to enroll in OSU's College of Medicine in 2004, aiming to fulfill his dream of becoming a physician. Despite his medical ambitions, Brian harbored a passion for music, aspiring to emulate the lifestyle of Jimmy Buffett by starting his own band.

Personal Life and Relationships

During his time in medical school, Brian began dating fellow student Alexis Waggoner. Their relationship was serious, with plans to vacation in Miami during the spring break of 2006.
