On January 10, 2024, a violent altercation occurred near Sunshine Cove, approximately 33 miles along Glacier Highway in Juneau, Alaska. A 72-year-old property owner confronted an individual trespassing on his land, leading to a struggle over the property owner's handgun. During the confrontation, the elderly man sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the head. The assailant fled the scene in a small silver truck before authorities arrived. Identification of the Suspect

The Juneau Police Department (JPD) swiftly identified the suspect as 54-year-old Corey B. Coleman, a local resident. Described as a white male, standing 5 feet 11 inches tall with a slender build, light brown hair, and green eyes, Coleman was also noted to be missing part of his left ring finger, possibly due to an injury sustained during the assault.
