Dr. Lansing Heppe Bennett, a 66-year-old CIA Medical Officer, was tragically killed on January 25, 1993, in Langley, Virginia. Dr. Bennett was shot while sitting in his car outside the CIA Headquarters. He had joined the CIA in 1991 and was responsible for monitoring the health of foreign leaders. His death was a result of a random, wanton shooting at the entrance to the CIA headquarters.
