On June 1, 2023, Jon'al Pierre White, a 32-year-old former high school football coach, was last seen boarding a Greyhound bus in Grambling, Louisiana. He was headed to Houston, Texas, in search of job opportunities. Jon'al, originally from New Orleans, had been staying in Ruston, Louisiana, and was in the process of completing his bachelor's degree. His sudden disappearance left his family and friends deeply concerned.

The Investigation

After arriving in Houston, Jon'al stayed in touch with his family via Facebook Messenger. However, communication abruptly ceased in mid-July 2023. His family later discovered some activity on his bank account in Missouri City, Texas, but the account was closed after being overdrafted. Despite multiple trips to Houston, distributing flyers, and hiring a private investigator, no substantial leads were found.

The Discovery

More than a year after Jon'al went missing, on December 5, 2024, the Gonzalez County Sheriff’s Office found him wandering along Texas 304. Jon'al was taken to the hospital for care. His family was overjoyed to learn that he was safe, although the circumstances of his disappearance and the reasons for his wandering remain unclear.

Jon'al was known for his quiet and kind demeanor. He lettered in football and track at Ruston High School and played for two seasons at Jones County Junior College before joining the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs for two more seasons. His family described him as a beloved figure in his community, and his disappearance was a significant event for those who knew him.
