Jaymez Scott Perry, a 36-year-old man from Fort McCoy, Florida, was last seen on December 29, 2017, at a relative's home in Los Angeles, California. He mentioned plans to visit another relative in Santa Rosa, California, before returning to his home in Orlando, Florida. However, he never arrived in Santa Rosa, and his subsequent whereabouts remain unknown.
On January 10, 2018, Perry's vehicle was found abandoned and stuck on a jeep trail in a remote area of Florida's Ocala National Forest, just west of Lake Delancy. The vehicle was towed away on February 10, 2018. Evidence suggested that Perry had been living in his vehicle prior to his disappearance.
Despite the discovery of his abandoned vehicle, Perry's disappearance was not reported to law enforcement until August 13, 2020, over two and a half years later. This significant delay hindered investigative efforts and the collection of timely evidence.
