On July 7, 2018, 54-year-old Velva Jacklin vanished near Cathedral City, California. She was last seen at a Chevron gas station located at 22600 Palm Drive in Desert Hot Springs. According to her boyfriend, Velva entered the desert near the station to search for her missing brown chihuahua and never returned.
An Urgent Search Begins
Velva's disappearance prompted an immediate response from law enforcement. The Cathedral City Police Department conducted extensive searches of the area where she was last seen. Efforts included canvassing the desert terrain, deploying bloodhounds to track her scent, and utilizing aerial units to survey the landscape.
