The Night That Changed Everything

On the evening of September 8, 2017, 19-year-old Kenneka Jenkins left her home in Chicago to attend a party at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois. She arrived at the hotel around 1:13 a.m. on September 9. Witnesses later reported that Jenkins was drinking cognac at the party and appeared to be intoxicated, swaying and not acting like her usual self. Around 3:20 a.m., surveillance footage captured her stumbling near the hotel’s front desk, and minutes later, she was seen entering a kitchen area. The last known footage of Jenkins alive was at 3:32 a.m., showing her walking into the kitchen and rounding a corner toward the freezer.

The Search and Discovery

After Jenkins' friends realized she was missing, they contacted her mother, Teresa Martin, around 4 a.m. Martin arrived at the hotel by 5:30 a.m. and requested access to surveillance footage, but hotel staff informed her that a missing person report was required.
