Ricci Lynn Ellsworth—a 45-year-old night clerk at the Memphis Inn in Shelby County, Tennessee—vanished during her overnight shift on February 8, 1997. Her disappearance quickly raised alarm as personal items were left behind in the motel’s office, including her purse and wedding ring, with evidence suggesting a violent struggle. Disturbing Evidence at the Scene
Eyewitness accounts painted a grim scene: several motel guests observed a figure near the parking lot by a maroon sedan, and one guest reported seeing two men enter the lobby.
