Ricci Lynn Ellsworth—a 45-year-old night clerk at the Memphis Inn in Shelby County, Tennessee—vanished during her overnight shift on February 8, 1997. Her disappearance quickly raised alarm as personal items were left behind in the motel’s office, including her purse and wedding ring, with evidence suggesting a violent struggle. Despite extensive investigative efforts, Ricci’s body has never been recovered. 

Disturbing Evidence at the Scene

Eyewitness accounts painted a grim scene: several motel guests observed a figure near the parking lot by a maroon sedan, and one guest reported seeing two men enter the lobby. Another described a man placing something wrapped in a blanket into a car trunk, which dipped under the weight, later noticing the clerk’s ring gone and both men with blood on their hands.
