Aranda Isabel Briones was a 16-year-old high school junior from Moreno Valley, California. Described by her family as bright and ambitious, she had recently been promoted at her job at the Moreno Valley Mall and was preparing for a leadership role . On January 13, 2019, Aranda left home to meet a friend, Owen Skyler Shover, a former classmate from Moreno Valley High School. She was never seen again.
The Last Known Movements
According to Owen Shover, he picked up Aranda that afternoon and later dropped her off at Moreno Valley Community Park between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m., claiming she got into a gray four-door sedan . However, surveillance footage from the park did not corroborate his account; Aranda was not seen at the park during that time .
