The Fateful Evening
On the night of Saturday, September 17, 2016, the tranquility of Northeast Washington, D.C., was shattered by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 10:41 p.m., Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 5200 block of Just Street, NE. Upon arrival, they discovered 28-year-old Doran Woodson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, Woodson was pronounced dead at the scene.
