A Community Shattered by Violence
In the early hours of May 9, 2012, the Montbello neighborhood in Denver was rocked by a sudden eruption of gunfire. At approximately 12:50 a.m., 24-year-old James "Jay" Dishmon IV stood outside a residence at 13390 East 55th Avenue, accompanied by several friends. Without warning, unknown assailants opened fire on the group, resulting in four individuals being shot. Tragically, Dishmon succumbed to his injuries, leaving a community grappling with grief and unanswered questions.
The Immediate Aftermath
The chaotic scene left residents in shock as law enforcement and emergency responders arrived. Despite the prompt medical attention provided to the victims, Dishmon's life could not be saved. The Denver Police Department launched an investigation, appealing to the public for any information that might lead to the identification and apprehension of the perpetrators.
