On November 13, 2016, the city of Jacksonville, Florida, was shaken by a horrific act of violence that claimed the lives of three individuals, including 18-year-old Xacia Mikia Burnem. The incident occurred near the Cleveland Arms Apartments in the Moncrief area, a neighborhood already grappling with concerns over safety and crime.
The Incident Unfolds
At approximately 6:07 p.m., the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) received a distress call reporting a shooting at the Lil' Albert Food Store, located near the Cleveland Arms Apartments. Shortly thereafter, another call came from Fire Station 18 on Myrtle Avenue North, where a vehicle had arrived carrying multiple gunshot victims. Inside the car were two women, a man, and an infant. One woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the others were transported to UF Health Jacksonville.
