The Fateful Night
On July 13, 2013, tragedy struck. Mike and his girlfriend were walking home from a party after her shift as a bartender at the Steel Pony. They decided to rest at a bus stop on Harlow Street when an unidentified individual approached them, demanding his girlfriend's purse. While she agreed to hand over her belongings, Mike's instinct to protect led him to confront the assailant. In the ensuing struggle, he was shot once, a wound that proved fatal. His girlfriend remained unharmed physically, but the emotional scars of that night are indelible.
