A Promising Life Cut Short
On the night of March 31, 2016, the Long Beach community was shaken by the tragic loss of 17-year-old Chad Sokhan Hang. At approximately 11:48 p.m., officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to reports of a possible shooting in the 1300 block of East 11th Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Chad with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. Despite being transported to a local hospital in critical condition, he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
A Family's Heartache
Chad was not alone that fateful evening; he was walking home with his brother when the drive-by shooting occurred. His sister, Sophea Hang, expressed the family's anguish, suggesting that Chad and his brother might have been innocent bystanders caught in a senseless act of violence.
