A Fateful Visit to the Golden City

On the evening of February 18, 2016, Paul Tam, a 48-year-old British tourist from Manchester, was exploring San Francisco with his niece. Their journey led them to the Japantown neighborhood, a district known for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant community. As they walked along Post Street near Franklin Street around 8:30 p.m., their visit took a harrowing turn.

The Brutal Attack

Without warning, a man and a woman approached Tam and his niece, attempting to snatch Tam's messenger bag. Determined to hold onto his belongings, Tam resisted. The male assailant then chased him into the street, where traffic continued to flow.
